SUPPORTING NEW FOREST LITTER PICKERS

You may have noticed in recent weeks the addition of a large yellow banner hanging on the side of our building, supporting LITTER PICKERS OF THE NEW FOREST and their anti-litter campaign.

As a small group of local volunteers, the LITTER PICKERS OF THE NEW FOREST do an amazing job, giving up their spare time to go around the New Forest collecting as much litter as possible and trying to do their bit to clean up our town and local area.

Sadly over the last year or so, Lymington has seen an increase in the amount of litter in the High Street and the town is certainly not looking as tidy as it could.

As a result we are trying to launch a campaign to get all the different organisations including Hampshire County Council, New Forest District Council and the town’s businesses and shoppers involved in trying to do their bit to keep the town clean and tidy.

Litter Pickers Of The New Forest

We have recently written to NFDC and HCC requesting additional support for increased weed spraying, sweeping as well as requesting the completion of scheduled repair works to selected parts of the High Street and its pavements.

We will keep you posted on developments but if you do spot a build up of loose litter or untidy areas around the town please register a complaint with New Forest District Council via customer.services@nfdc.gov.uk or call them on 02380 285000.

By all of us working together and highlighting issues, we can all help keep Lymington clean and tidy!
