”Spring is in the air”

Spring brings us a boost of fresh air, warmer weather and a better mood, Lymington is certainly gearing up for a great season.

Clarendon Fine Art

Its great to see lots of empty shops filling up in the high street and we have the pleasure of welcoming a few to the town including the likes of Clarendon fine art, who specialise in original works, limited editions and sculptures from the finest emerging and established artists, such as Craig Alan, Michael Speller, Fabian Perez, Mr Brainwash and Bansky.

The shop looks great and we think it will be a great and exciting addition to Lymington.

The Highstreet Kitchen

We also have the arrival of a new restaurant The Highstreet Kitchen, a new fine dining restaurant owned by Gavin Barnes. With 24 years in the business he has worked in some fabulous kitchens and even made it to the final 10 in 2015’s master chef the professionals.

I was lucky enough to have dinner there last week and it was superb, they have made the space very welcoming and a really beautiful atmosphere to enjoy some truly delicious food.

Everything is seasonal and locally sourced and the food was a real treat, simple food cooked well. I particularly enjoyed the chicken risotto and oyster mushrooms.

If you have a chance make sure you go book a table online or in person as they are open for brunch, lunch and dinner.

It’s important to keep our high-street going from popping in a local family run butchers for some award winning sausages to buying a quirky gift from a independent shop, shopping locally can help shop owners and the community get back up and running.
