At the Heart of Lymington for 150 years

THE DEFINITION OF QUALITY, SERVICE & ATTENTION TO DETAIL

A lot has happened since 1873, when George Elliott opened the Lymington Clothing Mart on the high street. Five generations later and Elliotts proudly remains one of the leading fashion, footwear and accessories retailers in the region.

Over those years, each generation of the Elliotts family has embraced the same philosophy of remaining true to combining the best in modern styles and designs, with the highest levels of quality and service.

A History to be proud of

From our humble beginnings when horses pulled carts along the high street, to today’s fast-paced digitally led world, there aren’t many businesses that have remained proudly at the heart of our community for 150 years.

Elliotts has stood the test of time through five generations of family ownership, reinventing itself, to always delivering the latest in quality fashions fit for our stunning little market town.

Over all those years, two guiding principles have remained true. That our customer is at the heart of everything we do and they are proudly served by our fantastic team who believe in first class service.

  • Our heritage and values put customer service first
  • A family business that remains at the heart of the community
  • 150 years of styling Lymington

A Modern approach

Continuing the high levels of quality and service is part of our DNA, but today, we need to offer our customers even more. We carefully source our brands ensuring production is ethical and strive to seek out and champion smaller, lesser known designers to hang alongside well-known classic names that our customers love and trust.

Over the years Elliotts has also adapted to the competitive retail environment, introducing a Priority Card rewards program and a dedicated Personal Shopping service where you can sit back and let us do the hard work whilst you earn points.

The aim is simple; blend the modern shopping needs with old fashioned customer service.

  • Over forty designer brands, set over three floors
  • A team that loves going that extra mile for every customer
  • Priority, gift, personal shopping…it’s all part of the service

OUR PEOPLE MEAN EVERYTHING

We think we’re lucky that so many of our staff have been with us for years. It helps us create an environment where our team is valued and feels part of a business that we all believe in. By sharing in those same values, we know it gets passed on to our customers who are the reason we’re still here today.

    Business Strategy and Buying

As the 5th generation of the original Elliott family, Neil and Erin are responsible for all the buying, and the general direction of the business. While bringing up the next generation of the family, Euan aged 10 and Jack aged 6, Neil and Erin spend their spare time either in their garden or walking Max the dog in the beautiful New Forest.

  • Erin Welker

    Ladies Sales Manager

I head up the womenswear buying and sales department at Elliotts, making sure we’re sourcing a complete range of brands or styles to suit any occasion. Whether it’s flicking through the pages of fashion magazines, taking inspiration from bloggers, designers or getting feedback from our loyal customers, it’s important to spend time getting things right.

For me it’s about finding clothes that compliment a wardrobe, having a selection of ‘go to’ items that can be ‘dressed up or down.’

  • Darren Clark

    Menswear

Working for a family owned, independent business means we’re a close team and since joining the Elliotts family back in 1992 there have been a fair few changes. I now manage the menswear department, working closely with Neil to ensure the ranges reflect the lifestyles of such a diverse and ‘outdoors’ area. Whilst our brands have changed, with more ‘technical’ features or designs in the fabrication, for me, I still look for those classic British brands that stand the test of time regardless of the occasion

  • Jenny Straw

    Ladies Shoes

They’ve tried…. but I keep coming back to Elliotts! Having started here in 1985 as a young sales assistant, I returned 13 years later in 2011 to join the team after raising my family and couldn’t think of anywhere else I would rather be. The friendships with customers who we see all the time and the team I work with are just lovely. You’ll often find me on the shop-floor surrounded by a pile of shoes and bags, dreaming up a way to best show them off.

  • Vicky Williamson

    Marketing & Office Manager

I joined the business in May 2000, initially in Ladies Shoes and shortly after moved up to the office. I only had a little computer knowledge but soon learnt all the different aspects of running the busy office as I went along including the accounts and VAT.

  • Franki Kosek

Ladies-wear Manager / Social Media Manager

I was welcomed into the team in 2017, since then I have worked my way up to become Ladieswear Manager overseeing the day to day shop floor tasks and sales. I love the personal interaction with customers helping them to try something new and feel their best for any occasion. Another job role I have is to update social media to keep you all up to date with new stock and competitions. I’ll always be here to greet you with a smile and a friendly chat.
